The club recorded a huge haul of medals at the British semi contact championships. Five golds, four silver and five bronze medals were picked up throughout the age groups

Chapman Retains Cup of Europe Title 2023

Callum Chapman won the Mens Lightweight crown for the second year running, powering his way to the final before defeating Dave Kientz of the Netherlands once again.

Olivia Pickthall took 3rd place in the Women’s Lightweight and Blake Collins lost in the quarter finals.

The club picked up more honours in the veterans and novice categories with Steven Papworth taking 2nd place in the over 45 years Mens Middleweight. James Clark secured 3rd place in the Mens Novice MW.

In the U18 sections Crawley picked up golds with Isaac Warnfeldt Rush -50kg U16, Finn Buckfield -70 kg U16, Elliott Fortnam +70 kg U16. 3rd place for Cody Chapman U18 MW, Alfie Finch -70kg and Will Power U10 -35kg.

Fun Day at there Crawley Interclub

The club had 70 youngsters competing in a semi contact event to help give experience to new and up and coming fighters.

Clubs from Wimbledon, Folkestone, Westcroft, Dunmow, Saffron Walden and Bournemouth took part with dojo members and a BBQ and Pizza stall were available through the day with parents all helping to make this a successful event

Crawley are the Top Team Again at the Welsh Open

It was medals galore for the club with all the clubs participants picking up a place join the Welsh Full Contact Championships.

Blake Collins, Steve Papworth, Nick Buckfield, Isaac Warnfeldt Rush, Olaf Dabek, Will Power, Mason Hennessy all took golds.

Cody Chapman, Lewis Fortnam, Elliott Fortnam and Antek Sobecki all took silver.

James Clark, Alfie Finch, Elvin Vaskys and Callum Chapman took bronze with James also winning the most spirited fighter award.

European Crowns for GB and Crawley Dojo

Great Britain finished in second place on the medal table at the IFK European Championships behind Kazakhstan with 3 golds, 4 silver and a bronze medal in Yerevan Armenia.

Crawley had Callum Chapman crowned the U21 Lightweight man Champion, Olivia Pickthall took silver in the Women’s -55kg and Isaac Warnfeldt Rush took silver in the U14 boys.

Also it was a great experience for club members Elliott Fortnam Antek Sobecki U16 and Cody Chapman U18.

Papworth shines at the British Clicker Championships 2019

Steve Papworth came back after a long lay off to win the British Masters title at the first attempt. He followed that with a credible third place in the Mens Open category and was awarded the most spirited fighter award.

The club also picked up other medals with 10 year old Elliott Fortnam doing amazingly well having six bouts and taking second place.

Elvis Vaskys took bronze in the boys high grade. Charlie Lee took third place in the boys low grade. The junior team also secured a bronze medal.

Success at the IKK English Open

The junior section performed very well at the English Open Full Contact Championships with four gold,one silver and one bronze.

Ashley Black once again won with two ippon victories by body punch. Elvis Vaskys also won both fights in quick fashion in a very impressive performance.

Brandon Wise and Antec Sobecki controlled all their bouts and look like they will be very good fighters in the future.

First timers Grace Emmett and Louie Warnfeldt Rush took second and third against more experienced opponents.


Black Wins Sutani Interantional Youth Cup

Both Ashley Black and Mia Hawkins were selected to represent England in this international event.

Ashley continued his successful year win a first place in his category at the IFK Belgium Sutani Cup. he won all three bouts by stoppage.

Mia started the event well but was hampered by a leg injury and defeated by a more experienced opponent so had to settle for bronze.
