World Crown for Chapman in Germany

Crawley club had six athletes representing GB in the 7th IFK World Championships in Leipzig on 10th May.

Mens Lightweight Callum Chapman proved he is not just a youth champion by claiming the Mens -70kg Lightweight World title. He secured a KO to the body in his quarter final before defeating Dani Redondo of Spain in the semi and then Nikita Anissimov of Kazakhstan in the final, both by decision. An incredible achievement from someone who is still only 22 years old.

Ruby McCord took 3rd place in the U18 Girls +65kg in her first world event.

Isaac Warnfeldt Rush and Cody Chapman made the Quarter Finals. Olivia Pickthall and Nieve Sorge lost out in the last 16.

Overall GB came away with 1 gold and 6 bronze to finish 11th in the medal table.
